Pink Patch Project Begins
Pink Patch Project Begins

Nine Nevada County law enforcement and fire agencies are teaming up for the Pink Patch Project this October. Support local breast cancer services by purchasing gear at upcoming community events.
October also means the return of the Pink Patch Project, as part of the annual Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Nine law enforcement agencies and fire districts are participating this year. And Nevada County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Ashley Quadros says they’re even more visible than they usually are…
The patches are available for purchase at agency and
district offices during weekday business hours, along with the community-designed
Challenge Coins and other merchandise. And sales are further enhanced by a
number of special events throughout the month, giving community members an opportunity
to meet and mingle with law enforcement and fire district personnel. Quadros says the first one is Coffee for a
Cure, next Wednesday, at Sierra Mountain Coffee in Grass Valley, from 8 to 11am…
You’ll also find merchandise during the Pink Patch Pickleball tournament, October 24th and 25th, at South Yuba Club, as well as during the Safe Trick-or-Treat event on the Mill Street Plaza on October 30th. In Western Nevada County, the money supports local breast cancer research and services at the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Foundation.
