A 3 car accident tied up traffic on HWY 49 at Christian Life Way just South of Grass Valley around 2:30 this afternoon. Two vehicles slowed so the first could make a turn but a third vehicle, a Toyota, came up behind and struck the first 2 cars at about 50 miles per hour. The driver of the Toyota was life flighted to Sutter Roseville hospital for unknown injuries. The other 2 drivers did not require medical attention. The CHP and Cal-Trans established metered traffic until about 3 o’clock when the road way was reopened to traffic.
